Poses (asanas) are held for a few minutes to stretch out aches and stiffness, align joints, calm the nervous system, tone muscles, build stamina and develop emotional and physical strength. All which lead to deep relaxation. Karen’s patient and calm approach will soon increase your flexibility and confidence to try more advanced poses.
Iyengar yoga is non competitive. It includes standing, sitting and lying postures. Using props such as blocks, straps and bolsters even complete beginners will find this an excellent introduction to yoga.
